With their return marked by the release of powerfully emotive singles ‘Amytis’ and ‘Frida’, Perth’s NEW TALK are today thrilled to unveil their highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Time & Memory’.

The album displays both their missives on patriarchy, toxic masculinity, contemporary Australian issues and deeply personal reflections on love and death. Drawing from varied references and their own well of experiences, the album aims to draw people in through directness and unity.
STREAM: ‘TIME & MEMORY’
“Time & Memory was our attempt at really expanding and exploring these two key concepts. We really tried to push ourselves in every facet – lyrically, texturally, formally, sometimes even pushing each other into the abyss, with interesting results,” reflects guitarist Axel Carrington

“Working with Dave (Parkin) again was an absolute no-brainer, as he is a wizard who completely understood what we were trying to achieve, gently pushing the boat out further. We wanted to work with Sarah (Register) after her spellbinding meld with Protomartyr blew us away and figured we had found a kindred spirit – this proved to be the case.”

“This record really reflects our core values, what we hold dear, a grabbag of missives, forlorn birdsongs and rubbery memory – but it’s also hopeful, defiant and hopefully worthwhile. When everything’s all at once, you owe it to yourself to try – we feel like we have and we hope you do too.”
