Rounding out another incredible year for Last Dinosaurs, today the Brisbane rockers drop their brand-new video for latest single, ‘Bass God’ from their critically-acclaimed, third studio album, Yumeno Garden.

Continuing the DIY approach they’ve followed across every aspect of the record, the new clip was once again directed and produced by the band, taking inspiration from themes of spiritual energy and Japanese cult groups, entwining with them the original ideas brought about in ‘Bass God’ and the album itself.

Speaking about the video’s creation and direction, Last Dino’s frontman Sean Caskey says, “the song is lyrically about looking within for direction and guidance instead of to a higher power. But it originated by a strange day dream I had about the bass god… A tall, long haired, colourful faced-painted bass rock god playing all the epic bass lines that united everyone in a euphoric trance.”

From there the idea for the clip arose, a ‘cult’ trying to spread their new, hive mindset, playing homage to modern ‘religious’ groups in Japan who follow similar beliefs in energy and the power of thought. The trio (Caskey, his brother and lead guitarist Lachlan Caskey and bassist Michael Sloane) along with long-time friend and collaborator, Nick Maquire, spent two afternoons filming across Brisbane in a state forest, city streets and under powerline arrays to capture different energies in each, embodying the irreverent, fun and thought-provoking ideas expressed in the synth-heavy ‘Bass God’.
