Matt Emsell and Jaddan Comerford are proud to announce the launch of their new venture, 1825 Records. The new label will utilise the expertise of its co-founders and focus on signing and developing Australian acts then exporting them overseas, which Emsell and Comerford have a successful history of with acts such as 5 Seconds of Summer, Matt Corby as well as Vance Joy and The Amity Affliction respectively.
1825 Records will see the pair combine their love of Australian music with their expertise in navigating the music industry internationally to create a label model that gives artists signing worldwide deals out of Australia the best chance of breaking on a global scale. Emsell is a Brit based in Los Angeles and Comerford is an Australian residing in New York City, which places them in a prime position to foster local acts and showcase them on a worldwide stage.
With a deal in place with Atlantic Records in New York and Warner Music Australia, the global reach of 1825 Records will allow the team to sign artists for the world, and they are set to take on the task.
