Perth’s pop-punk outfit Homestate have dropped “Sick Sad World“, the first single to be released off of their upcoming self-titled EP, out Friday November 29. Not only this, but the band will also be playing their EP launch show the day after on Saturday November 30 to celebrate the release!

“Sick Sad World” is engineered by vocalist Chad Fraser and mixed & mastered by Seb Barlow (Neck DeepWoes, As It Is). Musically, it’s a fun, energetic pop-punk tune that gets heart pumping and makes you want to bounce. Sick Sad World is reminiscent of fast, early 2000’s pop punk with anthemic, sing-a-long choruses and gained its sardonic title from the 1990’s hit animated tv series, Daria. Fraser highlights that, “the heart behind the new single is partly a reflection of Daria’s misanthropic approach to relationships and whilst relatable and very understandable, similar mindsets can be preventative to our personal growth.

Sick Sad World is about putting in the effort to becoming a better, more worthy version of yourself for the sake of someone else, someone you love, and making that commitment to leaving your past and everything that might haunt you behind.”

The inspired single “Sick Sad World” is out now and available on all digital and streaming platforms at https://linktr.ee/homestateau. ‘Homestate’ EP will be available Friday November 29. Tickets for Homestate’s launch show are available at the door only, so put this one in your calendar and get down early!
