With Hockey Dad releasing their much-anticipated 3rd studio album BRAIN CANDY this Friday, July 31, what better way to celebrate the release with a SOLD-OUT hometown show dubbed ‘Alive At The Drive-In’. It’s with gut-wrenching regret that these two shows (including Saturday’s August 1 show) are now postponed due to recent weather. After more than 180mm of rain falling in the Wollongong area over the last three days, the Bulli Showground will be unusable to host the event.
Fans shouldn’t despair too much with the zombie apocalypse set to take place on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 at the Bulli Showgrounds. Tickets for the sold-out July 31 show will be valid for the Friday, October 9 show and tickets for the August 1 show will be valid for the Saturday, October 10. Moshtix will contact all patrons directly with information on how to request a refund for those that cannot attend the rescheduled dates.
Show organisers are disappointed the shows won’t be happening on BRAIN CANDY release week. After ensuring the sold-out event was approved and in line with NSW event guidelines, they were going above and beyond on all safety measures.
Farmer & The Owl’s Ben Tillman said “2020 has thrown a lot at us. Fires, COVID19, but it’s the rain that’s put the brakes on these two shows. To have 400 cars each night on the Bulli Showground after all the rain we’ve had just isn’t safe or logistically possible. It would have turned into a big mud pit, everyone would have gotten bogged and no one would be getting out of there, which ultimately would have meant the 2nd show got cancelled anyways. It’s a hard decision to make but the safety of fans and our ability to execute the event to the best standard is paramount. The good news is that Hockey Dad have a new album released this week and we look forward to seeing fans celebrate Brain Candy with us on October 9 and 10.”
Not to keep a kick-arse band down, Hockey Dad are working a special performance of BRAIN CANDY that all fans can enjoy. More details on this will be announced soon.
