Greyscale Records announces a showcase of some of the acts that have helped the label grow to where it sees itself today. This showcase will take place on Saturday the 10th of August at the Corner Hotel in Richmond, with 200 $15+bf early bird tickets now available HERE

“Every time we see where Greyscale has gotten to, we have to pinch ourselves.” confesses Greyscale Records co-founder Joshua Merriel. “In just under three years, Greyscale has become a household name within the Australian music scene. Home to thirteen bands, ranging from young acts pushing out of their small home towns, to bands now touring on an international scale. My father always imparted the wisdom that we need to celebrate our successes, and so we felt this was the perfect way to share that celebration with those that have made it possible.”

The showcase will be headlined by one of Australia’s heaviest exports, and a band that truly has helpedGreyscale Records grow at such a dramatic rate, Melbourne metalcore outfit Alpha Wolf. Fresh off their completely sold out Australian tour, and before they leave the country for a huge run of shows through Asia, the five piece will bring their riff-heavy mosh tracks to The Corner as we wish them bon voyage. New Zealand Hardcore stalwarts Antagonist A.D will lock horns with Greyscale’s latest signingGravemind whose debut album Conduit is fast approaching. After teasing us with a new song at their recent AM/PM headlining run, Aburden will bring the melody to the evening, and Deadlights, rolling in from their Australian tour for their latest single Bathed In Venom, will show you exactly why they are one of the most talked about bands in the Australian alternative scene. In between sets we will also be treated to acoustic performances by Stuck Out, and Matthew Doherty of Greyscale‘s very first signing, Our Past Days.

“Josh and I started this label with no real expectations of how far it would go, but we have been fortunate enough to have a great family of talent who have believed in us and have helped shape this label from the into what it is today. We’ve seen young bands flourish into internationally recognised acts, and that has honestly been the most rewarding part of this endeavour.” explains co-founder Ash Hull “To keep in the mindset of helping young bands grow, we wanted to give an unsigned Australian act the chance to open up the evening in front of fellow punters and industry peers. Even for bands that aren’t signed to Greyscale Records, through this whole experience we’ve been able to build a stage, and we just want to see bands play on it.”

One young band will be given the opportunity to open up the Greyscale Showcase and show everyone what they’ve got. For more details, CLICK HERE to head to the event page on Facebook for details on how to enter.
