Support acts for the tour have now been confirmed with Day Wave performing at all shows, andSpookyland opening on all dates except Perth, and Melbourne on Thursday April 21.
Creating music under the moniker Day Wave, 25-year-old Jackson Phillips hailing from Oakland California has become one of the most buzzworthy and refreshing artists to burst onto the DIY scene. Crafting dreamy, lo-fi, guitar-driven indie-pop, Day Wave releases his highly anticipated second EP ‘Hard To Read’ through I OH YOU this week (Friday March 4) – just in time for the forthcoming Gang Of Youthstour where he joins them as the main support across the country.
Spookyland is the cacophonous creation of star-crossed Sydney dweller, Marcus Gordon and his band consisting of his brother and guitarist Liam Gordon, drummer Nath Mansfield and bass-player Nic Malouf. Playing rock music embodying as many genres and movements they can hit, Spookyland bring their unique sound to the opening slot for all dates except where marked (*).
Performing one of their first shows in 2016, Gang Of Youths played Secret Garden this past Saturday, proving to be one of the festival highlights, and giving fans a taste of what to expect on the April headline tour.

The band are currently putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming ‘Let Me Be Clear’ EP, which is due for release in the coming months. On the impending release frontman and lead songwriter David Leaupepe says: “‘Let Me Be Clear’ is a collection of music conceived during around the same time as The Positions was recorded. The recording, though conceptually tied to the debut LP is reflective less of the tribulations of fighting terminal illness but on the intimations of relationship, amity, sex and fear of the unknown.”
The national tour kicks off at the Tivoli in Brisbane on April 8, followed by All Ages shows in their hometown of Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, wrapping up in Melbourne on April 22.
