Welsh four-piece Dream State have released their huge new single ‘Primrose’ via UNFD. Alongside their track ‘Hand In Hand’ revealed in March, ‘Primrose’ is the first taste of new music from the band since their debut EP Recovery (20 million streams and counting) back in 2018.
On the new track, Dream State vocalist CJ says: “Sometimes life will put you to the test, we can find ourselves in these cycles and they present themselves in different forms, when I thought I had broken one of mine, I found myself right back at square one, I was in pursuit of pleasure despite the negative outcomes and I found myself trapped again.
“Sometimes we have to fall and fall to truly awaken and conquer our egos. There’s still so much we have to learn about ourselves and this is a chance to express my journey and open the door to anyone fighting the same demons. We want you to see that through darkness, light can be found.”
Dream State also recently confirmed the departure of the band’s original bass player,Danny Lewis. On the news, guitarist Aled Evans says “Unfortunately we’re having to say goodbye to our friend and bassist Danny, as he has decided to focus his time on his wonderful family. We wish him all the best with his future and we’ll miss him dearly!”
Dream State are due to bring ‘Primrose’ to a swell of home territory festivals in the coming months including 2000 Trees, Leeds, Reading and Burn it Down, and are now also due to take on a UK headline tour in October and November.
