Hard-hitting rock group Dolphin Friendly unleash their new single ‘Killing Silence’ today. The Christchurch quartet have become a ground-breaking force on the New Zealand musical landscape, with this latest politically charged single set to take them to new heights.
A statement from the band:“Like most of our music, Killing Silence came to fruition as we acted on a strong feeling we felt as a band. The song is our way of acknowledging the existence of systemic racism around the world (and in New Zealand and Australia) vocalising how we think we can act in a more understanding way as society by accepting hurt and hardship, guiding us to a movement and awakening of greater unity. Although the song rides a wave positive change through its euphoric chorus’s, the rap and heavy rock counterparts speak anger for the people in the present. Ultimately, we want to promote messages for the better of the world, we just write music to avenue it”.
Renowned for high energy, wild and engaging live performances, the band recently announced a run of headline single launch tour dates across New Zealand, to compliment an already bumper summer schedule packed full of festival appearances. Stay tuned for the rescheduling of Australian tour dates with Mako Road.
