Ahead of their upcoming performance on the Freedom Stage of this year’s LOST HORIZON festival, Pennsylvanian nu-core outfit TALLAH have resurrected ‘We, The Sad’ – a track originally featured on their 2018 EP ‘No One Should Read This’.

‘We, The Sad’ will appear on their forthcoming debut concept album ‘Matriphagy’, which will be released on October 2nd and is available to pre-order now. Not for the faint-hearted, the concept of ‘Matriphagy’ offers graphic details of a series of gruesome and traumatic family affairs.

Slotting into this overarching theme, ‘We, The Sad’ lyrically explores the effects of manipulation, control and suppression of one’s action and personality.

“This song is about being trapped inside your own head, inside the walls of ego and insecurity”, the vocalist explains. “It is about suppressing your personality because your identity revolves around another person—a person who does not care about you whatsoever. It explores the lack of confidence felt when you become reliant on someone else to tell you who you are. The song is 100% psychological, it is about an identity crisis.”

Lost Horizon will take place on 3rd and 4th July, and will be free to stream, raising money for The Big Issue and Amnesty International. The event will be available to watch via PC, VR or mobile app, or streamed via Beatport and Twitch.

Tallah will perform at 7pm on Saturday 4th July.

‘We, The Sad’ is available to stream and download now. ‘Matriphagy’ is available to pre order from Earache’s website, including limited edition vinyl, signed editions and merch bundles.
