AutumnFest, a fun-packed celebration of retro culture, joins the Hunter’s festival calendar this year from May 6 to 8 at Maitland Showground, presented by Chop Top Promotions.
This family-friendly Kustom Kulture spectacular has something for everybody, featuring a massive band line-up, custom cars, pin-up girls, lowbrow art, a fantastic day and night market, kids’ rides, food and more.
On Friday night, legendary ska rockers The Porkers help kick off a weekend of outstanding, high-energy live entertainment. Maitland’s own Pete Cooper, aka Pete Porker, will be celebrating his 50th birthday – so expect a huge show!
Saturday has the dance floor jumping all over again as an explosive line-up of hell-raisers hit the stage. Direct from the US, Hot Rod Walt, the psychobilly star with the Gretsch guitar, will be raising the roof.
The Detonators (VIC), The Saucermen (SA) and Pat Capocci are just a few of the other legends lined up.
But you’ll want to come back for more on Sunday, with live bands all day – it’s Mother’s Day, and with free entry for mums and more fantastic live music, stalls and rockabilly dance lessons, what better way to say, “Mum, you rock!”
The Show ‘n’ Shine is not to be missed, with plenty of hot rides to send gearheads into a spin. AutumnFest 2016 promises a stunning collection of custom and classic vehicles, with private collectors and car clubs from far and wide showing off their lovingly tended mean machines.
A prize for the best will be awarded Saturday.
Retro-loving ladies will be out in force flaunting their prettiest pout and head-turning looks – but who will be crowned Miss AutumnFest 2016 on Saturday?
In this year’s competition, our pin-ups will compete in three fun rounds – Daywear, Sleepwear or Lingerie, and Talent.
Keep your eyes peeled for international guest artists plying their trade. Back by popular demand is renowned American lowbrow artist David Lozeau with his colourful, eye-popping creations.
We’ll also have live pinstriping – take your guitar along to get this sleek and stylish treatment by multi-talented US artist and rocker Hot Rod Walt!
Tickets start from $20 for a daytime-only pass, with a whole-weekend pass Fri-Sun just $75 – seriously good bang for your buck.
Under 18s FREE and don’t forget – mums get in free on Sunday.
