Fox has revealed to the Television Critics association that they are in early talks to bring the X Files TV franchise back.

Dana Walden and Gary Newman Co-Chairmen and CEO of Fox Television Group were tight lipped about it’s return, with Walden only speculating it’s return. he said, “Gary and I have both worked through the entire run of the original X Files and it was a great experience. We have maintained a relationship with Chris Carter (creator), Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. We’re very hopeful. It’s hard because they are actors who are very busy. Chris has a lot going on. So it’s about finishing those conversations.”

Pressed further about if they would create a show with out the entire team, Walden alluded that “We would not move forward without Chris”.

Fox has had recent success with the return of 24, and soon we will be seeing a pilot for Minority Report. Fox has also renewed Gotham.

Both Newman and Walden have said they would love to see a return of Prison Break, but have yet to enter discussions.
