Well I’ve got to admit when I first heard they were making a movie about the game of tag I wasn’t quite sure how I would feel about it. Then after reading the list of main cast including Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms and Jon Hamm I became more intrigued. Tag did not disappoint at all. This year has been quite lacking in good new comedy films so Tag provided some great entertainment and laughs along the way.

The movie itself is about a group of childhood friends who have been playing the same game of tag for many, many years. Now as far as storylines for a movie go this seems pretty far fetched but this is actually based on a true story. From elaborate disguises to stealth tactics you won’t believe the lengths these guys went to while playing tag.

In summary Tag was really one of the most original and surprisingly funny films I’ve seen in a long while. The ensemble cast all had equal screen time to show off their comedic talents. Special mention goes to Aussie Isla Fisher who was hilarious. The film also does come with the message that amongst all of the slapstick comedy shown it’s really about preserving friendships. On the Blu-Ray not only will you get laugh out loud moments on the gag reel but you also get to meet the real men behind the original game of tag the movie is based on.

SCORE 8/10
