Following on from previous single ‘Our Love’, an ode to fading love and questionable futures, Sydney’s Sloan Peterson today returns with the second taste of her forthcoming sophomore EP ‘New Direction’ – and she’s out for revenge.

Having just returned from an east coast tour in support of ‘Our Love’, Sloan Peterson is set to grace the stage again as main support for UK indie-rock giants The Kooks on their highly-anticipated east coast tour throughout January.

Directors Natasha Foster and Erin Fairs again lend their artistic expertise in the visual accompaniment to ‘New Direction’, serving as a sequel of sorts to the heart-racing video for ‘Our Love’

“In my life I have met so many people who talk a lot of shit,” says Sloan Peterson.“I had this line ‘you’ve been putting stars up in my eyes’ written down in my notes for a while written about people who make empty promises. I tried to write so many other songs with the line in it and just never felt right. Jesse and I were jamming around with ideas and came up with ‘New Direction’.”

“I was reluctant to ever record it at first, but it quickly became a favourite to perform and listen to. It has so much energy and attitude and kinda empowers me to keep going. Inspired by Gwen Stefani and The Strokes, as always, it feels like warped rock n roll. There were several versions we tried and what happened was just the most natural.”
