Music provides the soundtrack to our lives. In 2017 a lot of great bands and artists continued to shine giving us new additions to our ever growing playlist. Sure a lot of good songs were released but there’s something truly special about when an entire album can impact your life and leave a time stamp. From old favourites to new emerging artists we put together our list of SCENEzine Top Ten albums of 2017 –

1. Rise Against – Wolves
When one of our favourite bands releases a new album we were not only excited yet blown away again. In todays political and social climate Rise Against are more important than ever and gave us the album to prove it.

2. Neck Deep – The Peace and the Panic
This album is for all those pop punk lovers out there. It has a perfect mix of upbeat tunes, heartfelt ballads and sing-along anthems.

3. Linkin Park – One More Light
Chester will always live on through LP’s music. The album itself is full of hauntingly beautiful lyrics and vocal delivery.

4. Paramore – After Laughter
Hayley and the boys returned with a new sound that was both infectious and vibrant.

5. Nothing But Thieves – Broken Machine
These Brit Alt rockers gave us songs we grew to love with every listen.

6. Rancid – Trouble Maker
Those American punks gave us another album of classic fist pumping tunes.

7. Macklemore – Gemini
This album was “glorious” yep pun intended.

8. Creeper – Eternity, In Your Arms
A new band that helped us channel our inner goth. Reminiscent of early AFI crossed with My Chemical Romance

9. Silverstein – Dead Reflection
One of Canada’s best bands delivered another solid album. Full of emotive lyrics and Silverstein’s signature sound.

10. Sorority Noise – You’re not as __ as you think
This album is full of those emo feels. A relatively new band that we are so glad we discovered.
